DNA has joined forces with Jolly Learning ltd to create a special
event for early readers using the thoroughly researched and popular
teaching and learning methods of synthetic phonics called Jolly
Phonics.
In this engaging one hour combination of performance and play
activities two DNA puppeteers will introduce reception class children
to the characters of Snake and Inky Mouse amongst others turning
letters and letter sounds into words and reading activities. Vowels
become treasure, consonants become fun actions and soon words are
sounded out and 'tricky words' are dealt with through the tricky
word hat.
DNA have been providing the puppetry and voices for Jolly Learning
for over ten years, and this professional association between performing
arts and puppetry with phonics teaching and learning methods forms
the key to engaging young children in the task of learning to read.
