Technical Cue Sheet

1. Preshow.
LX - welcoming lighting state A (1) plus house lights if necessary,
SX – play track 1 (repeat as necessary)

As the audience/participants enter, the two DNA performers are in the space assisting FoH personnel to seat them in groups. The performers interact with the public.

2. Clearance.
LX – 7 second x-fade to state B (2)
SX - fade out track 1

The performers stand back to back.

ADAM: "Ladies and Gentlemen, boys and girls, welcome to Ball Pond Bobby. Would adults and carers please stay close to children at all times. Stay on the mats; don't get your feet wet. There are spaces in the corners, located here and here. Keep them clear as they are for emergencies."

"Are we ready? Are we steady? Then let’s go."

3.
SX – Play track 2.
LX - No change in lighting.

The performers play and slowly build up a ball pond. They invite the audience to help them fill it with balls.
They get in the ball pond and play. They remember.

"Bobby. Bobby? Are you Bobby? Bobby!"

They bring Bobby into the space and help to take his shows off. Bobby is lifted into the ball pond.

4.
LX – 5 second x-fade to state C (3).

Bobby plays in the ball pond and waves to the audience. He climbs into the centre ring. We see only his legs for a moment, and then he stands in the centre of the ball pond.

5.
SX – play track 3.

The centre ring starts to spin.

6.
LX – 7 second x-fade to state D (4).
N.b. add chase sequence of gentle pulsing colour changes.

Bobby is riding a spinning ring. He disappears inside. As the ring spins, four legs drop down. The centre ring comes to a stop.

7.
LX - 7 second x-fade to state E (5)

Bobby plays at the bottom of the ball pond.

"Round and round the ball pond, like a teddy bear. One step, a-two step, a football in the air. Round and round the ball pond, like a teddy bear. One step, a-two step, a sweetie under there. Round and round the ball pond, like a teddy bear. One step, a-two step, an old smelly sock under there. Round and round the ball pond, like a teddy bear.
One SOCK, two SOCKS, a-tickly under there!"

Bobby is tickled by two socks in the centre. A teddy bear appears and chases the socks away. Teddy and Bobby fall to the bottom. Teddy produces a teapot.

"Teddy put the kettle on, teddy put the kettle on, teddy put the kettle on we'll all have tea. Bobby take it off again, Bobby take it off again, Bobby take it off again, they’ve all gone away. Teddy put the kettle on, teddy put the kettle on, teddy put the kettle on we'll all have tea. Bobby take it off again, Bobby take it off again, Bobby take it off again, they’ve all gone away. But you haven’t, have you?"

Bobby and performers emerge from the ball pond.

"Cup of tea? Would you like a cup of tea?"

They interact with the audience.

8.
LX – 5 second x-fade to state B (2)

"Can you make a teacup with your hand? Let’s all sing together. Teddy put the kettle on, teddy put the kettle on, teddy put the kettle on we'll all have tea. Bobby take it off again, Bobby take it off again, Bobby take it off again, we'll all have tea. Teddy put the kettle on, teddy put the kettle on, teddy put the kettle on we'll all have tea. Bobby take it off again, Bobby take it off again, Bobby take it off again, we'll all have tea."

Everyone in the audience has had a cup of tea.

"Teddy put the kettle on, teddy put the kettle on, teddy put the kettle on we'll all have tea. Bobby take it off again, Bobby take it off again, Bobby take it off again, we'll all have tea. Teddy put the kettle on, teddy put the kettle on, teddy put the kettle on we'll all have tea. Bobby take it off again, Bobby take it off again, Bobby take it off again, we've all had tea."

Bobby and performers exit the space.

9.
LX - 10 second x-fade to state F (6) – underwater
SX - play track 4

Performer enters and swims to middle of pond. Teddy floats upwards. Bubbles appear at the top of the centre ring. Bobby is brought back onstage wearing a rubber ring. He floats around the pond. Goldfish appear at the top. Bobby swims after the fish. Goldfish exit.

The inner ring starts to spin again. Bobby is caught in the current and starts to spin around the pond faster and faster. He tumbles into the inner ring and disappears. The ring continues to spin and loses its legs. It spins very fast and lands on the ground with a thump.

10.
LX – 7 second lighting change state G (7)- sky

A lollipop appears. As it rises, it reveals teddy hanging off it. It rises further to reveal Bobby hanging off teddy. Bobby floats around the space and over the heads of the audience. Birds appear and fly around as well. The birds start to take an interest in Bobby and the lollipop. They peck at the lollipop. The birds take the lollipop and fly off. Bobby and teddy are blown around by the wind.
Performer enters with wind cloth and pulls Bobby and Teddy apart.

11.
LX - 30 second x-fade to state H (8)- sun & moon
SX - play track 5 immediately after track 4 ends

Bobby watches the sun (yellow ball) rise from the centre of the ball pond. bobby floats off. The moon (large silver ball) enters and sun and moon waltz with each other. The moon exits. The performers produce a star cloth from the centre ring and begin to circle the audience with it.

11a (discretionary)
LX - add into state H the pink lanterns lighting the audience to light the star cloth from above.

The star cloth goes all the way around the audience and then is taken offstage.

12.
LX – 7 second x-fade to state J (9) - night, planet & stars + MIRROR BALL
(remember to remove pinks if added)

Bobby floats among the stars and planets. Eventually, teddy appears riding a planet. Bobby and teddy are reunited. A comet appears and Bobby and Teddy ride the comet. As the comet exits, Bobby and Teddy fall together into the middle of the ball pond and disappear.

13.
LX – 3 second x-fade to state C (3)
SX – play track 6

Performer enters.

"Bobby. Bobby? Where's Bobby? Have you seen Bobby? Oh, there you are. You've had fun, but now it's time to go come on. Look here's teddy.
Let's go."

The two performers bow to the audience and clap their hands.

"It's time for Bobby to go now. Bye bye Bobby. Bobby's had fun playing, and now it's time for you to play. Here we have big pieces of paper and crayons for you to draw shapes and colour them in. Here we have a tub of material for you to have fun with. What have you got there Tids?"

"I've got some rings and balls for us to move around with."

"And if you really need to jump in a ball pond, there's one in the foyer. So let's play!"

14.
LX – 5 second x-fade to state A (1)
SX – play track 1 on repeat

Activity session takes place. After 10 or so minutes the performers gather everyone to stand in a big circle around the ball pond holding hands.

15.
SX - fade track 1

Everybody does an activity together. The performers say goodbye as the audience leaves.

16. House lights if necessary
